White Sand Metairie Director
I began my volleyball experience in the local recreation department at the age of 6. At the age of 15, I discovered beach volleyball and that is where the addiction began! At 18, I won my first AAA Open Tournament. Since then, I have won over 200 tournaments locally & nationally; played AVP12 years in qualification and main draw tournaments; won the 2005 Motherlode Volleyball Classic in Aspin, Colorado, (largest doubles volleyball tournament in North America) and was inducted into the Fudpucker’s Hall of Fame in 2013. I have been working for LOVA and Bruce White since the early ‘90’s. Through the years I have refereed at all levels, from leagues, to college, to pro events. One thing everyone should know about me is that I enjoy my job and the people around me.
White Sand Slidell DirectorMike started playing both indoor and sand volleyball in 1992 at venues throughout the Gulf South area. He began coaching club volleyball in 1997 and high school from 2001 to present, leading his team to a State title in 2014. In 2011, he became the Director of Volleyball operations and head referee at the White Sands complex in Slidell, Louisiana. He is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable and strong–skilled volleyball players in the local area. Let me know what you think.
Hey Guys! My name is Lauren. I’ve been playing volleyball since I was about 7 years old. I played all throughout middle and high school, as well as 1 year in college at the University of New Orleans. I decided I wanted to focus more on my beach game, as well as school. I started reffing with Bruce about 7 years ago and have loved it ever since. I’m looking forward to seeing you all out at White Sands! Feel free to come find me and ask me any questions you may have
Chris Lomongo a.k.a. “Mongo” has been refereeing beach volleyball since the summer of 2012. He began playing volleyball in grammar school and made the transition over to beach in 2002. In 2004, he was a member of the Archbishop Rummel High School team that won the annual Slam ‘N’ Jam tournament, which features dozens of high school teams from the Greater New Orleans area. While attending LSU, he led a group of friends to the recreation center’s first beach volleyball intramural league championship in 2005. Since then, Mongo has gone on to win several best of league awards, league championships, and quads tournaments at beach volleyball complexes in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas.
Hello volleyball players! My name is Seth Cardinale. I have been refereeing beach volleyball for 4 years now. I have been playing beach volleyball since for about 9 years now. I ref multiple levels of players to try to get to know, not just the best players, but the players that want to become better players. Feel free to approach me and ask me any questions you may have about the game or complex. I accept tips in the form of alcohol. Tipping certainly will not hurt your team’s chances of winning! I look forward to referring your team in the upcoming season.
